Mail Ordered Glam - Ipsy February 2018

by - March 02, 2018

Hi, pookies! So, I did a thing that changed my life and finally got around to signing up to Ipsy. Yes, at long last I signed up to the subscription that I've been seeing ads for and always putting in the back of my mind, kind of like how I've kept the old game manuals to dear, dear games I used to play as a child.

Yeah, they're in a cute little box and I can't bring myself to throw them away.

My bestie Abigail over at Dreamer of the Day was a subscriber for a while but she felt kind of disappointed by the quality of the products. So I stayed away (like I did when choice companies decided to come out with not so choice games) but when I decided to give Ipsy a try, I texted her a picture of my products and she was like, "Oh gosh, they look like they've improved a lot!"

So thanks, Ipsy, you're amazing. Everybody needs a chance to develop and became a better person and it looks like you're getting there. *thumbs up, round of applause, pink confetti and also glitter*

So here's the drop down, run around of what was in that cute little baggy!

1. PUR Mini Fully Charged Mascara

It really is fully charged. It says that it's powered by magnetic technology, so look out, Magneto. I loved the creamy black magnetism. It coats every lash but you know what, it actually poked me. Like the brush is so spiky (which I like) that it was poking my eyelash roots (which I don't like). So I have to be careful! But I like it, it's pretty.

2. PACIFICA Beach Crystals Eyeshadow

Ooh. Now as much as I think the colors and texture on this cute little eyeshadow case are really quite beautiful - especially the holographic purple one - it kind of disappointed me. The pigmentation was not very strong and after about an hour or so, all the colors had become a muddy gray. I had the gold, purple and pink shades on and yes, I had a eyeshadow primer on. It might work better if I used just one shade? But that's not very much fun.

3. BIOBELLE Perfecting Primer Facial Mask

Now this was fun! This facial mask is infused with tea tree oil, rosehip oil and vitamin c and it smells like the roses in heaven. It's pretty sheer but deeply saturated in the product and it has little hearts and sparklies imprinted on it! So I was still pretty cute while it was on. It tightened my pores and evened out my skin tone, cooling down the redness. I was reflecting, quite literally. I'm a glow baby. Though I would probably wear it just as a facial mask by itself and not use it before applying makeup. It'd be fun to use it as soon as I got out of the shower.

4. IBY BEAUTY Radiant Glow Highlights in 24k Magic

This highlighter is perfect for my skin tone and it's super soft and creamy. It's buildable so if I wanted to blind people, I totally could but it works perfectly for an everyday highlighter as well. Also, "24k magic"? Sign me up for things infused with magic. And obviously Bruno Mars. Nuff said.

5. LUXIE BEAUTY Blending and Shading Eye Brush 249

I needed a brush like this so this double sided brush was perfect for me. It's super soft and makes eyeshadow blending easy (and I should try it with a better eyeshadow…sorry Pacifica). The only downside is that one end of it is wobbly, like it's not very secure to the handle. I can live with that, I'm not a complainer, but I do like me a smooth aesthetic to a brush.

Oh I can't wait for next month's glam bag! I loved the surprise and that feeling of getting new makeup stuff in the mail got me to the core. I'm like a kid on Christmas day every time I get a new piece of makeup to try. Ipsy, you the best.

Have a great day, beautiful.

Love, Emily
